Tweeds & checks and other trends for AW

I know that we all are still looking out of the window hoping, that the summer will finally pay its visit to Ireland, but lets face it, those 2 sunny days we had in May is all we’re gettin’ (I always say that I love summer in Ireland – it’s my favourite day of the year 🙂 ). I don’t know how about You Guys, but in winter I cannot wait for the summer days to come, just so I can wear shorts, sleeveless tops and dresses and lose the heavy winter outfits, but in the so-called-summer, I miss my favourite piece of clothing – knitwear, oversized jumpers, boots & warm woolly scarves that you wear in the autumn. So I got really excited when I got an opportunity to have a sneak peak at what’s gonna be trendy this coming season at the Arnotts A/W Press day. I must say the trends for the upcoming season look really promising and the collection was fabulous. After seeing the preview of it, I already have so many pieces on my wish list that I’m kinda glad that it will only launch in few weeks time, as I need some time to save up for it 🙂

The leading colours of the season are warm flame reds, oranges rich plums & greens, which is a nice change to the neon-coloured summer that we had this year. The colour palette perfectly ties in with the leading trend of the season, heritage & Lady of the Manor theme. I can already see Olivia Palermo taking the lead over this trend 🙂 There will be a lot of check & floral prints and texture mixing, so something for everybody. Here are some of my favorite pieces.

I always wait for the new Pinko embellished pieces, and the brand didn’t disappoint me this year either. Loved this top especially.

The new arrival at Arnotts – Just Cavalli had some very classy yet trendy numbers like this stunning silk top (which I already starve myself to have).

Cuteness-total: coat by Love Moschino 🙂

My winning label at the launch– Eryn Brinie – you definitely have to check it out. They have some classy, nicely tailored pieces, ideal for work and for the evening. Loved their blouses and figure-flattering tops.

Accessory of the season – this little collar, which can change every dress/top in your wardrobe! Check it out 🙂

Oh, oh, I can’t be forgetting about the shossies 🙂

Studs and spikes will still be in fashion (good news as I just got a pair of studed pumps myself – I will dedicate to them some other post). Although they are not for ladies with bad temper – you could actually hurt someone with a pair of these 🙂

There were some sexy ones by Kurt Geiger – Ladies, we all should have at least one pair!

Something for rainy/festival season 🙂 Classy check-print wellies by Ralph Lauren.

And last but not least – some extravaganza 😉 pumps by Bertie & Kurt Geiger. who said that flats have to be boring?

There was so much more that my brain was overwelmed, but it makes me look forward to the fall season already 🙂

I will be talking more about the trends in my next post, as there is lots exciting things happening, but hope the upcoming collections warmed up your thoughts for now on 🙂

PS. When I mentioned that I will update you on what’s hot and what’s not, I didn’t refer to fashion only. If I get to see a good movie or discover a great niche music band worth checking out I’ll let yas know 🙂 I don’t state an opinion on anything until I check it out myself, so after hearing a lot of mixed opinions and random jokes on one of the latest female best-seller, nick-named ‘mommies porn!’ I decided to find out for myself what the fuss is all about. So no more slagging on my side – I will give this ‘Dulux colour palette’ – ahem, I mean – ’50 shades of grey’ a go & let you know what I think 🙂
