Going back in time…

Standard

For as much as I’m grateful for living in the XXI century, which gives us unbelievable freedom when it comes to dressing (I could never imagine living in the past, when a dress code was firmly restricted (the same goes for being a nun! – well, except for the more obvious reasons 🙂 ), I love ‘going back in time’ in the way I dress! Some of the decades not only still inspire (and will continue to do so) the current trends, but also have influenced the fashion cannons so deeply, that certain clothing pieces have become timeless, and can be worn regardless of the year that we live in. Little black dress, classic white shirt, or boucle jacket, to name  a few.  That’s why when I saw and fell in love with this – 60’s inspired dress, I didn’t worry for a second, that wearing it in 2012 will be a fashion faux-pas!

The dress, in combination with a white shirt with a bowtie, brought my thoughts back to the past and inspired me to style my post in a feel of the 60’s decade. Mink-brown bag & heels, and a fur hat completed my look, adding a little bit of life to it at the same time, by its gentle hint of colour.

This winter, amongst other trends watch out for timeless, past-inspired, classics alike geometric jumpers, psychedelic prints ( a-la 70’s) oversized coats, or mentioned in my previous post – fur & velvet pieces.
